A fuel injection pump of the rotary distributor type has angularly adjustable stop rings which limit the outward movement of the pumping plungers so as to control the maximum fuel output of the pump. The stop rings have an outwardly extending curved stop surface so that the maximum fuel output can be altered by altering the angular setting of the rings. A fuel pump for an internal combustion engine is known, comprising a rotor distributor with a drive from the engine, a transverse channel in the rotor with a plunger, a discharge channel with an exhaust port for connection to the outlet openings of the engine, a cam washer with projections, 10 means for supplying fuel to a transverse channel, including an inlet in the housing, associated with a low pressure source and a junction in the rotor connected to the transverse channel, means for controlling the amount of supply fuel and means for limiting the stroke of the plunger to the outside, the latter containing a ring mounted in the housing, interaction with the plunger and having a profile contact surface Cll. The disadvantage of this pump is that it limits the ability to control the maximum fuel flow. The aim of the invention is to increase efficiency. This goal is achieved by the fact that the profile contacting surface is made in the form of two consecutively curved sections, the latter section being made with a greater steepness relative to the rotor axis. FIG. 1 shows a pump, a longitudinal section; in fig. 2 — a sweep of the protrusions of the cam washer and the profile surface of the means for limiting the stroke of the plunger to the outside; in fig. 3 - part of the ring with a profile surface. The pump contains a distributor rotor 2 with a drive 3 from the engine in the housing 1, a transverse channel 4 in the rotor 1 with a plunger 5 consisting of two parts, a discharge channel 6 with an exhaust port 7 for connection with the outlet openings 8 of the housing 1, a cam washer 9 with protrusions 1C), means for supplying fuel to the transverse channel 4, including an outlet opening 11 in the housing 1, associated with a low pressure source 12 and a junction 13 in the rotor 2 connected to the transverse channel 4, means 14 controlling the amount of fuel supplied performed in the form of throttles, and means for limiting the stroke of the plunger to the outside, two parts of which are located on both sides of the cam disc 9 that contain a ring 15, which interacts with the plunger 5 and has a profile contacting surface 16. The latter is made in the form of two successively bent sections 17 and 18, moreover, the section 18 of the fields with a greater steepness relative to the axis of the rotor 2. The plunger 5 interacts with the cam washer 9 and the ring 15 through the roller pusher 19, Position 20 (FIG. 2) denotes closing the inlet 11 after filling the pump with fuel, and position 21 indicates the communication of the discharge channel 6 of the rotor 2 with the outlet openings 8 of the housing 1. The ring 15 is provided with a jumper 22 on which the pin 23 is fixed to communicate the ring 15 angular displacement. The pump works as follows. At the moment the injection channel 6 of the rotating rotor 2 communicates with the outlet opening 8 of the housing 1, the plunger 5 moves inwards under the action of the cam disc 9 and the fuel is supplied to the engine. Upon further rotation of the rotor 2, the transverse channel 4 is connected to the inlet 11 of the housing 1 and the low pressure source 12 via the means 14 for controlling the amount of fuel supplied. Under the action of low fuel pressure, the plunger 5 is moved out. Depending on the angular position of the ring 15, the plunger 5 has a different maximum outward stroke. At low engine speed, the ring 15 provides for the plunger 5, the greatest outward stroke, in which The engine can be fed the most fuel. The restriction of the stroke of the plunger 5 to the outside is performed by the portion 18 of the ring 15. Thus, the proposed pump design provides increased efficiency.
